JUST VIEWS: Friday, June 9,2017 at 7:20 PM: Nurturing Human Health & the Environment?
Tonight we’ll screen the documentary “Living Downstream” based on the acclaimed book by ecologist and cancer survivor Sandra Steingraber, PhD. The film follows Steingraber’s travels across North America to break the silence about cancer and its environmental links. “Living Downstream” helps us make connection between the health of our bodies and the health of our air, land, and water. For more info, go to After the film, we’ll discuss advocacy campaigns for safe, affordable food and water. We’ll also get updates and inspiration from The Conservation Foundation, DUUC Green Sanctuary Group, and Sierra Club’s River Prairie Group. Learn how to become involved in group activities for clean energy, restoration, and lobby efforts; to care for the environment, conserve water, and provide habitat for beneficial wildlife in our yards and communities; implement the 4 R’s (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rethink); and more.
