This front and back gardens were planted with native trees, shrubs and perennials, and a few native cultivars to give color, interest and wildlife habitat all year long. The front garden has mainly woodland/savanna species since it only gets partial sun. The backyard was planted as a meditation garden with walking paths thru the yard, kind of like an informal labyrinth, and a "council ring" for a fire pit so friends can gather around. Previously not much was growing in the back under the mature trees, which includes a native Black Walnut.  The garden was planted in 2007 &  2008. The homeowner, who likes to garden,  will be adding native perennials to the meditation garden  in phases according to the landscape plan. Check back to see this garden as it matures.
